Lake Bolsena is the largest volcanic lake in Italy and is found in High Latium, precisely in the “Tuscia” on the Umbrian, Tuscan borders.
It is also the largest volcanic lake in Europe and the cleanest, from here the saying “a lake to drink”!
The basin was formed by the volcanic explosion of the Volseino volcano complex which slowly filled wiyh water.
